Auro PCL Tornado Screw Thread
The Auro PCL Tornado Screw Thread is an absorbable suture device featuring a dual-strand helical configuration — two screw-shaped filaments intertwined together around the insertion needle. This double-strand tornado geometry enables the thread to grip surrounding tissue more securely than single-strand screw designs, while delivering approximately twice the collagen stimulation response of a standard mono screw thread.
Tornado Screw Architecture
The dual-strand helical structure significantly increases the contact surface area between the thread and the surrounding subdermal matrix, enhancing mechanical interdigitation with tissue and providing volumetric support to sunken or deflated areas. Compared to single-strand screw threads, the tornado configuration generates a stronger and more sustained fibroblast recruitment response, resulting in superior collagen induction and more pronounced tissue volumization. The design also offers greater procedural stability, with improved tissue retention and reduced risk of thread displacement post-insertion.
Clinical Applications
- Volumization of sunken or hollow facial areas (tear trough, temples, cheeks)
- General facial lifting and tissue tightening
- Skin texture improvement and superficial rejuvenation
- Body areas requiring localized volume restoration
